Basics ways to check what’s your LAN settings for Remote Viewing Setup.

For Windows XP / Vista.

Click on the START Menu.
Find a link called RUN and click on it.
On the RUN window type CMD and press enter
On the CMD window type IPCONFIG and press enter
It will show you your LAN settings. For Example:

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.116

Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

Always Keep in mind that the Default Gateway it’s your Router’s IP Address.

On the Stand Alone DVR System you will need to change the Network Setting to the ones that your network has.

For Example

IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.200

Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1


Once Ip address it’s change on the DVR you can Ping it by using the PING command on the CMD Window. Example
PING 192.168.1.200

You will get a reply from DVR.

Now you can Setup the DVR Remote Viewer Software and type the local ip address of the DVR and you are ready to see your Cameras from the Same Location
