What is Security IP camera


An IP security camera is a security camera that is connected directly to an IP network. the IP security camera have a built in web server that allow the user to remotely open a web browser and point it to the ip fo the security camera. Most IP based surveillance camera have a web server with active X pages, which allow the user to watch live video from his internet explorer browser. basically an IP security camera can be described as a camera and computer combined in one intelligent unit. It captures and sends live images directly over an IP network providing live digital video for all kinds of surveillance and monitoring applications. remotely you can , store, and manage video over standard IP-based network for CCTV infrastructure. It operates independently and can be placed wherever there is an IP network connection wireless or wired network.

Security Camera remote access

To setup port forwarding on your router your computer needs to have a static ip address. Please setup a static IP address on your router, that will prevent your computer from changing its IP and by that interrupting the remote access of your DVR. When you are finished setting up a static ip address, please come back to this page and enter the ip address you setup in the Static IP Address box below

Click on START>RUN on your windows Start menu and Type CMD and press enter.

A black screen will appear. At the prompt type IPCONFIG. The result will show something like this

Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. You router address appear as the gateway IP address In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is blank, and the password is admin. Click the Ok button to log in to your router. Click the Applications & Gaming link near the top of the page.
You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Port Range Forwarding.
Security DVREnter the name DVR into the Application box. It doesn’t really matter what you put into this box, but something that will remind you why these ports are being forwarded.in the port area , enter that port number 2000 into the Start and the End boxes. Then enter in the second line the Application name DVR Web and at the port number enter 80 . Use the Protocol drop down box to select the Both for protocol. Enter the ip address to forward these ports to into the IP Address box. If you are forwarding ports so you can run a program on your computer, you should enter your computer’s ip address into that box. Put a check mark in the Enable check box.

When you’re finished, click Save Settings near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
