There
are different aspects you need to consider when choosing a camera. Choosing the
right camera for the job will give you the desired performance and picture
quality depending on the environment the camera is in. There are cameras for
Outdoor which are weather proof, indoor cameras, low light and pitch dark. An
additional aspect to consider is whether the camera will be mounted on the
ceiling or wall. Some cameras are meant to be mounted in a specific way, such as
the Dome Camera, which is best mounted on the ceiling, preferably on a drop
ceiling (removable tile) which are found in most offices, stores and many other
commercial applications. Bullet and Box cameras are mostly installed on the wall
using a wall mount.
Box
Cameras are perfect for warehouses or in situations where the focus is
on a specific spot and you want to be able to adjust the lens. With Box cameras
you have the freedom to interchange lenses depending on the range of mm
needed.
There
are several different types of Dome Security
Cameras:
Indoor Dome Security Cameras are best
suited for a square or rectangle rooms, such as office rooms.
Outdoor Infrared Dome Security Cameras
are good for installing under an outdoor overhang or Saufet. They are small and
esthetic looking and are easy to install in such an application. Infrared
Security Cameras are excellent for use in places which are very dark or even
pitch dark.
Outdoor
Vandal Proof Dome Cameras are recommended in applications where theft
and vandalism are an issue.
Infrared
Bullet cameras are for outdoor use when the camera needs to be
installed directly on a building wall or pole in an outdoor application. There
are different sizes and types of infrared bullet cameras and the size of the
lens changes depending on the quantity of IR LED’s. Infrared Security Cameras
are excellent for use in places which are very dark or even pitch
dark.
Zoom
cameras are used in applications where far away objects need to be
viewed closely. They are a wonderful tool, in either capturing from a distance
or being able to zoom in for detail and then zooming out for a broad view. Zoom
Cameras are indoors unless put in a housing and then can be installed outdoors.
PTZ
(Pan Tilt Zoom) cameras are perfect to view large rooms or outdoor
applications (such as parking lots). The PTZ camera can be set to turn in a 360
degree in a specified speed or controlled through either the DVR or a PTZ
Controller.
Network IP
Cameras, often referred to as IP-Surveillance, are for specific
applications within security surveillance, remote monitoring and Security
Cameras, it is a system which gives users the ability to monitor and record
video over an IP network (LAN/WAN/Internet)
Unlike
analog video systems, network IP camera uses the network,
rather than dedicated point-to-point cabling like Siamese, as the backbone for
transporting information. The term network video refers to both the video and
audio sources available throughout the system. In cable (Coax) a network IP
camera (video application), digitized video streams are transferred to any
location in the world via a wired or wireless IP network, enabling IP video
monitoring and recording from anywhere on the world.
Dummy
Cameras are boxes which look like cameras but are not. Dummy cameras
give the impression of being a camera usually as an addition to an existing
system with no available channel for a real camera. These cameras can detour
trespassers simply by looking like working cameras.
Vehicle
Cameras are for capturing video within a vehicle. Such cameras are used for car
races, Driving instruction and training. Some users use such cameras to monitor
inventory trucks for theft.
Heater/Blower
cameras are outdoor cameras that have a heater and a blower built in to deal
with extreme weather conditions. The Heater is triggered when the weather is
lowered to extreme cold or the blower when the weather is extremely hot. This
feature protects the camera and ensures the user that the camera will work even
through extreme weather situations.
Hidden
(Covert) Security Cameras provide a more discreet and undetected method
of surveillance. These cameras are suitable for use in a wide range of internal
applications, these small security Cameras have been designed and developed to
provide monitoring tools that are disguised in the form of everyday commercial
and domestic use.
These
cameras ensure that they are able to blend discreetly into any background and
consequently do not catch people's attention. These security products are
available in monochrome or color with optional audio.
Cameras
can operate as a back-up where primary cameras are disabled by an
intruder
Square and
Board cameras are small cameras that are mostly used as hidden cameras, where an
actual hidden camera may be detected where such an object may not be
appropriate. They are put in or behind an object and view and record without the
point of interest is aware. This application is mostly used when installing a
premade hidden camera would be noticeable.
